Buttons and people

Here are a few old buttons, new buttons, large buttons, tiny buttons, colorful buttons, some with two holes and some with four holes, leather buttons, wood buttons, sparkly buttons, plain buttons.  Most of these buttons were rescued from garments that were being tossed out.

The buttons remind me of  the people I see every day.  I turn on the TV and computer and there they are… I see them driving and walking…. then there’s the time spent with family, friends, coworkers, etc. during the day.

Finding the  value in friends, family, and even strangers is like a treasure hunt.  Finding the value in ourselves is also high on the priority list.

The buttons were given a new purpose by being used together on new creations.

Each button had value in the project…..just like each person has great value in life.

We are all God’s creations.  Wow!!

The buttons remind me of this from the Message version of Romans 12: verses 10-18.

Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle.

Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant.

Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder.

Help needy Christians (people… all people need help); be inventive in hospitality.

Bless your enemies; no cursing under your breath.

Laugh with your happy friends when they’re happy; share tears when they’re down.

Get along with each other; don’t be stuck-up.

Make friends with nobodies; don’t be the great somebody.

Don’t hit back; discover beauty in everyone.

If you’ve got it in you, get along with everybody.

Enjoy life! deb
