Chile Day 100 gallons
Our church has had a food booth at the Coffee County Fair for the last 49 years.
Every Labor Day we labor over Chile.
After the secret Chile recipe is put together the fun begins cooking and stirring, stirring and cooking.
Then the finished product is taken outside, placed in a huge tub of ice and stirred until completely cool.
Back inside for another group to pour it into the cans.
The cans are then taken to a huge cooler and stored until fair time.
We heard lots of stories from the last 49 years at the fair booth.
